Sectional drain cleaners are lighter and more powerful than drum-type drain cleaners. Cables come in short 7-1/2, 8, 10, or 15 foot sections, rather than one continuous length. Instead of carrying the weight of a full length cable in the machine, you just carry the as much cable as you need to do the job. Small machines use 5/8" or 7/8" sections to clear 2" to 4" lines up to 150 ft long. Large machines use 1-1/4" sections to handle jobs up to 200 ft. long in lines from 3" to 10" diameter.
Kinetic Water Ram™ Opens Clogged Pipes with Shock Action! Here's a compact, light-weight tool for quickly opening clogged sinks, toilets, and tubs. It handles rust, grease, sediment, and scale in lines up through 4 in. in diameter. The Kinetic Water Ram uses a burst of compressed air that drives a shock wave (kinetic energy) through water to break up stoppage. It's particularly useful when the stoppage is on the far side of a drum trap or series of tight bends, since the shock wave can travel around bends without losing its force.

Traditional plungers that use a hard rubber cup or more modern plungers that use bellows all have the same problem. The rubber cone at the end is round. But the opening in the toilet bowl is usually not round. Toilet openings are a variety of shapes that make it hard to seal off with the traditional plunger. As a result, you get splash back - the bathroom becomes a mess, and worst of all, you get wet.
